Lancaster University falls silent to remember
Shortly after midday today, the hundreds of students gathered in Alexandra Square fell silent to remember the victims of Friday's terrorist attacks on Paris, as well as those killed in the recent terrorist attacks in both Beirut and Baghdad.
Following words from the organisers of the service, a minute's silence was observed before both the French and British national anthems were sung.
Speaking to SCAN directly after the service, the organisers remarked on how "emotional the service was, and it was really impressive to see so much support shown. We were all really touched, and it warms our heart to see that these problems touch everyone. We really appreciate the support from everyone".
