Men's 1st Indoor Football outplayed by York

1 min read

There was disappointment for Lancaster Men's 1st Indoor Football team as they were outplayed by York to lose 6-4 on Saturday lunchtime. Both sides began well with a goal apiece in the first few minutes but York quickly drew ahead with two more goals to make it 3-1 by half time.

After the change of ends goals from Lancaster players Keir Hannity and Dan Hull evened the score but York pulled ahead again with three more goals despite the best efforts of Lancaster's goalkeeper John Moran, who pulled off some spectacular saves when York were awarded penalty kicks in the first half.

"We played well and dominated a lot of the game," said Lancaster captain Alex Low after the match."We handed them at least three of the goals through silly mistakes but I can't fault our effort. We've not played much five a side and I think we did really well."
