Powerlifting Match Report Roses 2019

This year saw a new addition to the Roses line up, and while the event didn’t influence the overall score, it did encourage some healthy competition. Powerlifting is derived from your standard strongman competition, but here with a high standard for technique, safety, and precision. It was an impressive afternoon of sport to watch, with the intensity in the gym slowly increasing with the weights.

One of the competitors from Lancaster, Micheal, stated: “As this is the first year of the competition, everyone is pretty nervous, but we’ve been warming up this morning and we’re looking forward to the competition”.

The final score, 428-430 resulted in a Lancaster victory with only two points in the competition overall.
